Bandung is the number 4 largest city in Indonesia after Jakarta, Surabaya, and Medan. Located on 768 meters above sea level, Bandung is also considered the coolest big city in Indonesia, making it a popular tourist destination for decades. Every weekend Jakarta people drive as long as 180 kilometers to Bandung to have some short vacation while enjoying the cool weather here.

History of Bandung
The city of Bandung was first developed by the Dutch by opening a tea plantation in the eighteenth century in the northern area between Tangkuban Perahu volcano and Sari Ater hot spring resort. They later built a connecting road from this tea plantation to the neighboring cities, including to Jakarta. And since then more and more people came to Bandung to enjoy the nice weather here.
At the end of the nineteenth century the first railroad connecting Bandung and Jakarta was built which boosted the growth of industry in the city of Bandung. As the time passed, the Dutch built even more and more nice buildings and roads within the city to accommodate all the visitors that come here. Braga Street was known as the most popular main road then where we can still see some old coffee shops and antique shops which have been there since the Dutch time.
There are so many attractions in Bandung, starting from shopping, sightseeing, and doing outdoor activities such as camping, rafting, golfing, and many more.
